How Much Can You Make

The pay that you make depends on where you live and how many hours that you drive. Cons

There are no tips for driving with Uber. When I signed up as a rider, I had to put in my profile the percentage of tip that I wish to give. I looked up my profile and discovered that the tips that I entered was only for the TAXI service and not Black, SUV, or uberX. UberX is the most commonly used by riders because it is the cheapest. However, Lyft does provide tips built into the service. You might want to consider this when deciding what type of vehicle that you will use and what service company that you may want to drive for.

  1. Thank you for reviewing Uber. When I first heard about Uber I thought that it could be a great side business to get into and earn some extra cash. Unfortunately for me though, Uber is not in my location.

You raise a very valid point in that you really need to consider your work life balance. The more you work, the more you will earn. I have a young family, so really I want to spend more time with them rather than working. Do you think if Uber does come to my city, would driving for Uber be a good idea if I wanted to spend more time with my family?

    1. Andrew,

You are right in saying that Uber gives you more flexibility in you time management. I am so sorry that Uber is not in your city. I do not know where your city is, but have you checked to see if Lyft is in your area. They are a big competitor of Uber. Yes, driving for Uber or Lyft would be a great way to control your time to be with your family more. You can increase your time when you need more money or decrease your time when you need more time with your family. You are your own boss and can make your own hours. Good Luck!

  2. If you know your way around the city, being an Uber driver may be for you. It’s a company with transportation around the world and is growing fast. And if you are good at it you can make extra or even a full time income. You must be 21, have 3 years driving experience, and pass a background check. You also have to have a clean driving record and a newer vehicle, because who are we kidding, a good looking vehicle counts in the total Uber experience. You complete your online app, your car gets Uber inspected, and the background check gets done. if everything is okay, then you are off to the races, well, you are off and driving anyway. What you make depends on where you live. And you can also sign up for Lyft which is their competitor. You get flexible hours, be your own boss, work around your other job, if that is what you’re looking for, and get some extra cash.
